We hereby invite you to the launch of the book “Mais do que Casas / More than Housing”, hoping you will be able to attend any of the three scheduled dates/locations in Portugal. The first event will take place in Lisbon, in the auditorium of MUDE – Museu do Design, on Friday, 7 November 2025, at 5:30 p.m. The second, in Porto, will be held in the Fernando Távora auditorium, at FAUP (Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto), on Wednesday, 12 November, at 2:30 p.m. Finally, the book launch in Coimbra will be at the former Chapel of the College of Arts on Thursday, 20 November, at 6:00 p.m.
To mark the end of the programme, the Action Guide/Guidelines will be presented by our guest rapporteurs, architects Bruno Baldaia and Miguel Judas, together with the curators of “Mais do que Casas / More than Housing”, architects Teresa Novais and Luís Tavares Pereira. This will be followed by a speech by a guest speaker.
In Lisbon the book will be presented by Maria Manuel Oliveira, Professor at the EAAD - Escola de Arquitetura, Arte e Design, University of Minho; in Porto by Rui Ramos, Professor at FAUP - Faculty of Architecture of University of Porto; in Coimbra by Nuno Grande, Professor at the DARQ-UC, Department of Architecture, University of Coimbra. Other guest speakers will be announced shortly.
We would like to express our gratitude for your participation in the “More than Housing” programme, reflected in the contributions published in the book, which brings together 24 months of unprecedented convergence, mirroring academia's ability to contribute to society at all levels of education, with material that informs, questions and works towards building a better country.

“More than Housing” was organised by the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP), curated by architects Teresa Novais and Luís Tavares Pereira, and was part of the official programme of celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the April 1974 Revolution. with the collaboration of all higher education institutions of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Fine Arts in Portugal, involving around 1,750 students and 280 teachers.
