It will be held today, at 18h00, in the Grand Hall, the second edition of the 'Opiniões Cruzadas' (Crossed Opinions), an initiative promoted by EXUP, which will count with the participation of the Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, Ana Mendes Godinho, the former Minister of Finance and FEP Professor, Fernando Teixeira dos Santos, Professor at the Institute for Political Studies of the Catholic University, Miguel Morgado, and Pedro Schuller, member of the Executive Committee of the Liberal Initiative in charge of Youth. Topics such as the 20 years of circulation of the euro, the emigration of young people in Portugal and the recovery of the euro zone after the pandemic will be debated by this panel of speakers, moderated by FEP Professor Filipe Grilo.

FEP’s Full Professor Isabel Soares was recognized this Tuesday with the title of Emeritus Professor of the University of Porto, a distinction reserved for full retired or retired professors who have distinguished themselves throughout their career by the "high services rendered to Science, Society and the University". The proclamation took place during the solemn session of the University Day 2022, the event that marked the 111th anniversary of the foundation of the U.Porto. Isabel Soares gave her last lecture at FEP on March 17th.

The Solemn Session of the 2022 University Day was also the moment to celebrate the unique quality of the students' academic path. Filipe Couto and Luana Alves, both students of FEP’s Bachelor in Economics, received the Incentive Award, intended for the best students of the first year of each school. Awarded for the first time in 2010, the prize corresponds to the value of the annual tuition fee applied to national students of the U.Porto.

In the afternoons of April 5 and 6, FEP students will have the opportunity to participate in a simulation of a United Nations conference. In the General Assembly, they can assume the position of a delegate from a member country of the United Nations and contribute to a debate through the elaboration of resolutions for real and current problems. Besides training argumentation and communication skills, they will have moments of negotiation with the other delegates. There will also be a training session with a guest speaker specialized in the topic under discussion. Registration is open until 29 March.

FEP, represented by Professor Aurora Teixeira, integrates the recently created international project blockchain generation, which aims to contribute to the improvement of the learning and teaching experience, through the development of digital skills of Economics and Management Professors. In addition to FEP, different renowned institutions are part of this initiative, namely the University of Szczecin (Poland), Frankfurt School Blockchain Center (Germany), Momentum Educate+ Innovate (Ireland), Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands) and European E-learning Institute (Denmark). The project launch meeting took place recently and allowed to make known the working group that will set in motion this project of digital transformation of education.
