Today, the fourth edition of the Elite Quality Index (EQx) measuring sustainable value creation by global elites in 151 countries was published at HSG SQUARE. The EQx with an expanded set of 134 indicators examines the roles of elites and whether they create or extract value from their nations. In a year characterized by an unprecedented rise in inflation, the implementation of massive COVID-19 fiscal support packages and war in Europe, the Elite Quality Index provides a revealing picture of the state of world affairs. New global leader – Switzerland beat out Singapore for the first time in the history of the index however the two nations continue to lead in elite quality as they have done for the past four years. Japan (rank # 4, up 14 places) and Germany (rank # 8, up 3 places) have made impressive advances. The same is true of India (rank # 59, up 38 places), Brazil (rank # 69, up 12 places) and South Africa (rank # 83, up 16 places). These achievements stand in stark contrast to fellow BRICS nation Russia (rank # 103, down 36 places). Jan Ketil Arnulf from BI Norwegian Business School, our partner institution in Norway, on the country’s performance in the EQx2023. Check it out. Thanks for another insightful analysis in this year’s edition!

During the upcoming St.Gallen Symposium the #NextGeneration Value Creation Barometer will be discussed. This joint collaboration project between the #Symposium, the University of St.Gallen and the Foundation for Value Creation, looks at the implicit relationship that exists between this generation and the next - for 151 countries - in terms of the positive value creation legacy as well as negative value extraction. Great coverage of the Elite Quality Index 2023 📖 by Torsten Riecke in today’s edition of the Handelsblatt 📰 Great teamwork with Tomas C K Guido Cozzi Céline Diebold Michael Hilb Elia Müller Universität St.Gallen (HSG) Gordon Langlois https://lnkd.in/g3sfzuMi
