AlergiaPT: the ISPUP project which aims to inspire people with allergies

AlergiaPT was chosen as one of the winners of the This is Public Health (TIPH) Global Grant Program. The project aims to promote allergy tolerance and foster a new attitude towards allergies among the Portuguese people, prevent the exacerbation of severe allergies and raising awareness about the importance of improving air quality.


Does metabolically healthy obesity exist or is it just a matter of time?

An ISPUP study concluded that although some individuals with obesity do not immediately show metabolic changes, it seems to be a matter of time before the changes usually resulting from fat accumulation develop. Obesity is not harmless, even if it may seem so in the early years of the disease.


Early adiposity rebound associated with worse cardiometabolic health already in childhood

An ISPUP study found that children whose adiposity rebound happens early have higher adiposity levels and worse cardiometabolic indicators by age 10, which can put them on a worse health trajectory.


Registration open for e-learning program on very preterm birth cohorts

On July 1st, 2021 the summer school of the RECAP Preterm cohort platform, in which ISPUP researchers will participate, will begin, in e-learning format. The programme is aimed at researchers in the fields of neonatology, epidemiology or psychology who are interested in learning more about very preterm birth cohorts and collaborative research techniques.
