COVID-19 infection and lethality in nursing homes was higher in the first wave of the pandemic

During the first wave of the pandemic, the risk of death from COVID-19 in nursing homes in the northern part of the country was 48% higher than outside these institutions. The information comes from an ISPUP study, with data referring to the period between April and June of 2020, when the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic was experienced in Portugal.

An ISPUP study has concluded that greater exposure to green spaces can protect children from developing allergies.


ISPUP study identifies gaps in suicide registration in Portugal

The study analysed mortality trends in Portugal over 132 years and concluded that there are flaws in recording the number of suicide cases in the country.


ISPUP awarded at the XX Congress of Food and Nutrition 

Researchers from ISPUP won the first three prizes for best oral communications at the XX Congress of Food and Nutrition & II International Congress of Food and Nutrition, organised by the Portuguese Nutrition Association (APN), which took place online on the 23rd and 24th of September of 2021.
