Helder Maiato, researcher at i3S, has been awarded his third european research grant for the KAREVO project, which will focus on the comparative study of chromosomes from different species, aiming to deepen the understanding of cancer. More information here.

The recent Directive No. GR 04/09/2024 gathers recommendations on the use of the institutional address in scientific, cultural, and artistic production authored by U.Porto's academic community. EU Research and Innovation support celebrates 40 years, totaling 280 billion Euros, 120.000 projects and 75.000 financed beneficiaries. To celebrate this milestone, the stories of 40 projects that have made a difference in various scientific areas, where EU support was crucial for their realization, are being shared. 'la Caixa' Foundation Health Research Call 2025

The call's 8th edition aims to identify and promote scientific excellence initiatives with potential and impact on society, whether in basic, clinical, or translational research. Financial support for three-year projects can range from €500,000 to €1,000,000. Projects focused on pediatric rare diseases will have the opportunity to receive dedicated additional funding.

The Make Our Planet Great Again (MOPGA) initiative recently launched a call for grants of up to 12 months, worth €2,500/month, for early-career researchers (less than 5 years after PhD) who wish to carry out their research in France.
