Highlights

Applications for this award are open until January 31, with prizes to be granted in four distinct scientific areas this year: Arts and Humanities | Exact Sciences, Engineering and Technologies | Health and Life Sciences | Social Sciences. The award aims to promote and recognize the scientific community's efforts in science and technology activities. More information here.

With funding of €60,000 per project and a maximum duration of 18 months, this FCT call aims to support original ideas from young researchers or innovative projects with disruptive potential across all scientific domains. More information here.

U.Porto has launched its new plan, succeeding the previous one introduced in 2022. This new document outlines over 70 measures to be implemented by 2028, many of which are specifically directed toward the research field. More information here.

Funding Opportunities

EP PerMed Joint Transnational Call 2025

The European Partnership EP PerMed, with a budget of €36.5 million, aims to fund research projects in pharmacogenomics applied to personalized medicine. The call follows a two-stage process, and consortia must be multidisciplinary and multinational (involving at least three different countries within the partnership).

Global Health EDCTP3 Joint Undertaking 2025

The Global Health European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Joint Undertaking will soon launch several calls (with a budget allocation of €220.10 million) to fund research projects aimed at developing health technologies for the identification, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases affecting sub-Saharan Africa.

CaixaImpulse Health Innovation 2025

'la Caixa' Foundation seeks to support innovative research in the health sector, promoting the transfer of new products/services to the market. Projects should focus on therapeutics, medical devices, diagnostics, or digital health. Funding of up to €500,000 is available.

Net Zero Technologies Calls

The Innovation Fund has recently launched five calls, with a budget of €2.4 billion, aimed at boosting zero-emission technologies, including the deployment of innovative decarbonization technologies, renewable hydrogen production, and battery production for electric vehicles.
