FCT Call Calendar for 2026

Released

FCT has made available the calendar of calls planned for 2026, a tool that enables the scientific community to plan their applications. Highlights include the call for R&D projects across all scientific domains and calls for the stimulation of scientific employment, all scheduled for the end of the year.

U.Porto Young Research Meeting 2026 to Take Place in May

IJUP 2026 will take place on 6, 7 and 8 May, at the Abel Salazar building. The entire scientific community is invited to attend the presentations and posters by registered U.Porto students, showcasing the results of studies in which they participated within their research initiation projects.

School of Economics and Management to Host 2026 FCCN's Jornadas

FEP will host FCCN's Jornadas, organised by FCCN, the digital services unit of FCT, focusing on advanced infrastructures and services for the Higher Education and Research community. There will be dedicated sessions on AI, cybersecurity, R&D data management, open science, and FCCN resources aimed at research and development.

PRIMA - Call 2026 - Section 2

Aimed at collaborative research and innovation projects (up to 36 months) addressing challenges in water management and agri-food sustainability in the Mediterranean region. Funding ranges from €120,000 to €250,000 for Portuguese entities participating in or coordinating projects, respectively.

FLAD - Atlantic Security Award 2026

Aimed at doctoral researchers with innovative projects in the field of Atlantic Security and Defence. The €15,000 award seeks to promote cooperation between Portugal and the United States, encouraging studies that address current and future challenges in the security of the Atlantic area.

Horizon Europe - EIC Transition Open 2026

Supports the maturation and validation of innovative technologies, from experimental proof of concept (TRL 3/4) to demonstrations in relevant environments (TRL 5/6), including the development of business plans for commercialisation. Funding may reach up to €2.5 million per project.

Instituto Camões - 2nd Call for Triangular Cooperation Projects

 Deadline 01.06.2026 Ícone Relógio

Funding for projects/initiatives in the areas of Education, Health, Climate Change, Food Security, Digital Transformation and Economic Development, involving at least one Portuguese partner, one Latin American partner, and one partner from an African Portuguese-speaking country. The maximum funding available per project is €200,000.
