Highlights

U.Porto's research ecosystem will carry out 3 specialised studies as part of service contracts aimed at supporting decision-making and shaping national public policies. These services will address challenges in areas related to climate change, territorial planning, and the competitiveness and internationalisation of companies. More information here.

The report ‘Assessment of Lump Sum Funding in Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe’ analyses the implementation of the Lump Sum budget typology, increasingly adopted in calls for tenders, based on a set of challenges that have been identified throughout the implementation of funded projects. Out of the 1 100 positions provisionally selected for funding, U.Porto's ecosystem secured 72 positions for teaching careers and 129 positions for research careers, totalling 201 permanent contracts, which corresponds to an approval rate of 18.3% of the national total. More information here.

Funding opportunities

Mobility Scholarships for U.Porto Scientific Community – CGD

Opportunity for U.Porto teaching staff and researchers to undertake an international mobility period, up until July 31, 2025, at an eligible Higher Education Institution in Portuguese-speaking countries: Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Timor-Leste. A total of 14 scholarships are available, each worth €2 500.

João Monjardino 2024 Award

The award is granted for the best article published on the topic 'Rare Genetic Diseases: Detection and Therapy,' with a value of €10 000. Researchers under the age of 35, who have conducted their work at an institution within the national scientific and technological system, are eligible to apply.

The la Caixa Social Observatory FP24-2B call will support research projects focused on quantitative surveys in the field of Social Sciences. The amount for support is set at €35 000, for projects lasting 12 months.
