Highlights

The provisional results of the latest edition of this call have been announced. The programme will support the recruitment of 400 Junior and Assistant Researchers, with around 22% of the awarded positions allocated to U.Porto’s research ecosystem. More information here.

U.Porto will host the Annual Summit of the European University Alliance for Global Health (EUGLOH) from 22 to 24 October. Since its creation in 2019, the Alliance has promoted the concept of a shared campus, fostering exchange and transnational cooperation among its nine partner universities across eight European countries. The U.Porto Open Science Days 2025 will take place on 19 and 20 November at the Abel Salazar Building. The event will provide a space for reflection, knowledge sharing and capacity building around the challenges and opportunities of Open Science in the era of artificial intelligence. MIND PhD24 Project 2nd Call

The MIND PhD24 Project, coordinated by the University of Porto, aims to promote the mobility of doctoral students, as well as the mobility of teaching staff, researchers, and technical personnel. The project focuses on strengthening the promotion of doctoral schools, developing transversal skills training, and fostering international doctoral network programmes.

MOPGA 2026: Visiting Fellowship Program for Early Career Researchers

The Make Our Planet Great Again (MOPGA) initiative has recently opened applications for visiting fellowships of up to 12 months, offering a monthly grant of €2,500 to early-career researchers (within five years of completing their PhD). The fellowships support research in France on climate change and environmental issues.

la Caixa Health Research Call 2026

This call aims to identify and support scientific excellence initiatives with strong potential and societal impact in the fields of neurosciences, oncology, cardiovascular diseases, and infectious diseases (whether in basic, clinical, or translational research). Financial support for projects lasting up to three years ranges from €500,000 to €1,000,000.

ERC Consolidator

Designed for researchers seeking to consolidate their scientific independence (with 7 to 12 years of post-PhD experience) and to build or strengthen a research team. Applications follow a bottom-up approach, with funding of up to €2 million over five years. Proposals are evaluated by international experts, based solely on the criterion of excellence of both the proposed project and the Principal Investigator.
